Included in the cost of the cooler is everything you need:
- the cooler (of course)

INCREDIBLE SAVINGS: The average rental for a bottleLess cooler will cost you at least $39.95 per month. Over 5 years, you’ll pay them almost $2,400. But, what do you get for that money? After a bottleLess cooler is installed, the only maintenance required is to change the filters. Is that worth $500/year for something that takes 10 minutes? With a ClearPoint cooler, you simply purchase the cooler and then just change the easy twist-off filter twice a year for $129.95 total (per year). That’s it for unlimited, delicious water!
NO CONTRACTS: Companies that rent bottleLess coolers require you to sign long-term, binding contracts. Often, they finance your lease – which means that they get paid up front. What happens if they go out of business? You’re still obligated for the payments but they’re not around to service your cooler.

Cooler Questions
Cold Water: The temperature of the cold water dispensed is typically between 42 and 46 degrees. ClearPoint Water coolers use a top quality, quiet 1/20th horsepower compressor. This compressor is an internal, spring-mounted, hermetically-sealed compressor with automatic overload protector. No external lubrication is needed, and the refrigerant is environmentally-friendly. The temperature is controlled by an adjustable thermostat with an 'off' position that is easily accessible on the rear of the unit. To rate cold water capacity/recovery, there is an “apples to apples” test used by the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Institute (ARI). In a room that is 70 degrees, you measure how many 3-ounce cups of <50 degree water per hour. ClearPoint Water coolers provided at least 53 cups of cold water in a 70 degree room.
Hot Water: The water that is dispensed from our child-resistant hot faucets/buttons is steaming hot - usually above 180 degrees. It's great for making hot tea, instant soups or instant coffee. The 520 watt heating element ensures precise temperature control. The cooler can provide 45 6-ounce cups of 180+ degree water per hour. The cooler comes with a hot tank on/off switch for locations who do not want instant hot water.
Maintaining The Cooler
Most issues that may arise can be easily fixed by looking at the troubleshooting videos/manuals on our Support Page. If you need additional heal, we can usually get you back up and running with a quick chat (click the blue button in the bottom, right corner of this website, a troubleshooting call to the office, or email to our customer service department.
However, if you want a technician to come out and take care of your cooler, it’s no problem to arrange. Service calls are $99 and can be purchased from our Shop Page, and are completed by a member of our national network of professional, certified installers.
ClearPoint Water "bottleLess" coolers are designed to be virtually maintenance-free. All you typically have to do is change the filters. You can see how to do that on our Support Page.
Replacing the filter cartridges is completed in less than a minute. It's easy!
The filters need to be changed based on usage. The easiest rule of thumb is that if your business or home has less than 10 people, you can change the filter once a year. If you have 10 or more people, we recommend changing the filter every 6 months.
However, there are examples where, even if you have less than 10 employees using the cooler, you'd still want to change the filters every 6 months. For example, if the cooler was in a waiting of a doctor's office, you would have more people drinking from the cooler than the people who worked in that office. So, you'd want to change the filter every 6 months.
It's all based on how much water is purified by the cooler.
The filters are tested for over 1,000 gallons. If you are switching from a bottled water cooler, it's easy to compare that capacity to how many 5-gallon bottles you used. 1,000 gallons would be like drinking 200 of those five-gallon bottles of water. So, if there are 52 weeks in a year, that's about 4 of those 5-gallon bottles per week.
You didn't realize that there would be math involved in your cooler decision - did you? 😉
Just stick it in a dishwasher or wash it in a sink by hand. (Sorry about the soup thing...)
The drip tray just lifts out - or, pulls towards you on the Olympia. You don't need any tools to remove it.
Payment & Shipping
Yes - the calculation is based on your State using your Ship To address.
Let us sound like an old-timer for a second: "back in the day", internet based sales didn't require the collection of sales tax. But, many States now require it. So, we update our sales tax collection as States require.
We usually offer free shipping within the 48 "lower" United States. It will ship Fedex or UPS ground.
Because it's so much more for us to ship to Alaska, Hawaii and Canada, we must pass through that cost onto those customers. For those customers, sorry about that.
The cooler comes in a 48′ x 15′ x 15′ protective box and weighs 39 pounds It’s expensive to ship.
We typically ship your orders within 1 business day after you place your order. You should expect a total time to your business/home of 3 days to 6 days business days for delivery from the time you place your order. It depends on which warehouse we're shipping it from.
Please note that, in some instances, a new cooler could require that two boxes be shipped. We sometimes ship the cooler separate from the purification system/installation kit. We would send you separate tracking numbers so you could see the delivery days.

Installation/Set Up
ClearPoint has a national network of trained independent technicians who can set up your cooler for you (the water “tube” is already there - or can perform a complete installation (we need to bring the waterway from the sink to your new cooler). If you’d like ClearPoint to have one of our technicians install your new cooler for you, no problem.
Just Add Cooler Installation to your shopping cart (only $199) while you are buying your cooler. We have certified technicians in every zip code in the 48 continental United States. Please note – we only install coolers purchased from ClearPoint Water.
To see how installation works, please visit our Support Page. (You can always order installation at a later time) If you are replacing an existing bottleLess water cooler: ClearPoint Water has a “Set Up Service” for only $99 if the waterway is already in place. We’ll come out and set up your cooler for you when a complete installation isn’t necessary.
It's not that bad. What helps when we do new things is when we can watch someone else do it first. So, we have posted lots of videos to help you along the way on our Support Page.
Your new cooler will arrive with everything you need to get set up, including step-by-step instructions. If you opt to install the cooler yourself and then change your mind later, you can always request one of our installers to come and install it for you.
The kit that we include is suitable for most of our customer’s installations. The kit includes:
- 25 feet of 1/4-inch flexible waterway. That waterway will get the water from the water source (usually under a sink) to the water cooler
- 2 different valves which will let you access the cold water under a sink without disrupting the flow of water to the sink.
- Your first filter is also included with the cool
- A 1/4-inch water shut off valve
If there are instances where additional supplies are needed, it’s primarily when the water source is more than 25′ feet from the ClearPoint cooler. In this situation, you would need to purchase additional length of waterway. We sell 25′ foot sections of 1/4″ waterway in our Shop, or you can get it at any hardware store.
It is easiest the install your new bottleLess cooler when it is in the same room (or near) the water source, but it absolutely doesn’t have to be. Our step-by-step instructional videos teach you how to get the waterway from a water source to the cooler, whether it’s in the same room or not.
Please note that the coolers come with 25′ feet of waterway. So, if you are more than 25′ feet away, make sure you get extra waterway from our Shop Page.
We have water coolers that are hundreds of feet from the water source -and they work just fine!
If you have one of our technicians install the cooler, they can run the waterway into a different room if necessary. Please note, however, that extremely long distances may require an additional cost for the installation.
Water Filtration
The ClearPoint Water filter system is incredibly powerful. It is rated at 1 micron - which means that nothing smaller than 1 micron can fit through the filter. (1 micron is 100 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair).
It will purify 1,000 gallons of water for chlorine, lead, cysts, bad taste and odor reduction. 1,000 gallong is like drinking 200 of those big five-gallon bottles.
Nerd time: it is a one-micron, block, granular activated carbon filter with lead reduction media. This filter has been tested to NSF performance Standard 42 and Standard 53. Our filters undergo rigorous testing and independent verification for performance. Each filter is rated at .5 gpm with a maximum pressure of 125 psi and a maximum temperature of 100 degrees F Class 1 filtration media.
ClearPoint Water systems are only certified to purify potable (drinkable) water. Our purification makes water that is technically "safe" to drink better by removing chemicals and things like lead.
So, if your water is contaminated, we would recommend that you get a more significant water treatment system.
Most municipal water costs about 1 penny for 4 gallons. So, hypothetically, let's say that you used to drink seven of those 5-gallon bottles of water per month. If that were the case, you were drinking 7 (bottles) x 5 (gallons) = 35 gallons per month. That's 420 gallons per year.
So, if that were to switch to a ClearPoint BottleLess cooler, technically, yes, your municipal water bill would go up - around $1.08 cents per year.
But remember, you're also subtracting the cost of the bottled water you were buying, plus delivery, cooler rental costs, and the environmental impact of all that wasted plastic!
Our STANDARD MICRON PURIFICATION system leaves the beneficial minerals (magnesium, potassium, etc.) in your water. Minerals are what gives water its "flavor". The filter removes all particles 100 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair. The filter also enhances the flavor and purity by removing chlorine, lead, and other harmful chemicals that produce bad taste. Basically, after the water goes through our purification system, You're just left with H2O and minerals. The cooler purifies the water as you drink it.
We do also offer another purification system called REVERSE OSMOSIS. Reverse Osmosis removes about 90% of the minerals in your water in addition to everything that Micron Purification does. Most regions in the USA do not require reverse osmosis - it is mainly beneficial in areas where the municipal water supply has very high concentrations of salt in the tap water. This system is an additional $199/cooler and takes a little longer to install because it has to be tied to a drain.
Reverse Osmosis installations, unlike micron filtration, require access to a sink.
